47th Annual Meeting gathers over 3 thousand participants

The 47th Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Animal Science Society, from June 27 to 30, 2010, in Salvador, assembled 3.100 participants from various regions of Brazil and abroad. The event is one of the most important in this field in Brazil, and this year´s theme was "Entrepreneuship and Scientific Progress in Brazilian Avant-garde Animal Science". The participators were rural entrepreneurs, scholars, researchers, professors, public and private company technicians, agronomists, veterinárias, zootechnicians and other professionals interested in animal production.

The event was organized in 11 symposiums ministered by 61 national and international panelists, besides the mini-courses that provided professional development and improvement. During the opening ceremony, the Brazilian Animal Science Society (SBZ) paid a tribute to the founder and first chief editor of the Brazilian Animal Science Journal (RBZ), professor José Brandão Fonseca, and to professor Gilberto Gonçalves Leite for his 10th anniversary as the Executive Secretary of SBZ.
